Reserve officers' training

Apart from getting higher education Sumy state university provides courses in reserve officers' training for all students. This corresponds to the "Regulations about military training of students of higher educational establishments according to the reserve officers curriculum" which were confirmed by the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine on 26.07.2001 #866. The chair of military training is represented by the Military institute of artillery at the Sumy state university.

Military science is studied as an optional discipline in the 3rd and 4th years of study. After passing the courses the students have a probation period in the army forces, take the state attestation. Materials for awarding military ranks are sent to Ministry of defence of Ukraine on conditions that a students gets the Specialist's or Master's degree when graduating from university.

The courses are financed by the state and juridical persons or individuals.

If you have decided to take the reserve officers' training courses you must:

• Undergo a medical examination;
• pass entrance exams in sports, theoretical and practical testing in pre-conscription military training, pass professional-psychological selection.

Organizational arrangements take place in the 2nd year of study.
