Methodical Activity

Methodical activity is one of the main ones conducted by the medical faculty. Methodical Committee that consisted of 10-25 members earlier was organized at the time of its very foundation. The work of this committee has been headed by the Dean and his Assistants on methodical work – Prof. M.M. Kaplin (1992 – 1994), Assistant Professor L.G. Kascshenko (1995 – 1996), and Prof. O.V. Ataman (1997 – till now). In 1999 5 Circulating Methodical Committees, headed by Prof. M.M. Kaplin (methodical and theoretical disciplines), Prof. V.F. Orlovskiy (internal diseases), Prof. M.G. Kononenko (surgical diseases), Prof. O.I.Smiyan (childhood diseases and obstetrics), Professor K.K. Vasilyev (hygienic and general theoretic disciplines) were organized.

Main directions of the activity of Methodical Committee are:

1. Analysis and discussion of the principles of conduct of lectures and practical classes, organization of semester and State examinations, criteria of students knowledge assessment, students preparation to the License examinations “Krok-1” and “Krok-2”, practical training of would-be doctors and practical skills improvement.
2. Scheduling of the faculty publishing activity, analysis of the publishing plans of methodical and educational aids.
3. Students preparation quality control: conducting of Rector knowledge assessment, control over lectures, practical classes and examinations attendance.
4. Analysis, discussion, reviewing and approval of curricula in all the disciplines.
5. Carrying out of scientific-methodical conferences with the participation of the lecturers of the specialized grammar schools and Sumy Medical College.

Dean of the faculty and his Assistant on methodical activity are the members of the SSU Methodical Council. Lecturers of the majority of the chairs partake in international scientific-methodical conferences, organized and carried out by the SSU.
