General Information
Mechanical and Mathematical Faculty was created in 1995.
Engineering programmers, engineering mathematics and mechanical engineers in three specialties (Applied Mathematics, Information Science, Dynamics and Durability) are trained here.
The Faculty consists of 6 chairs, 4 of them are graduate ones:
Chair of General Mechanics and Machine Dynamics
Head of the Chair is Professor Volodymyr A. Martsynkovsky, Doctor of Technical Sciences
Chair of Mathematical Analysis and Optimization Methods
Head of the Chair is associate professor Volodymyr O. Yachmenyov, Ph. D. in Physical and Mathematical Sciences
Chair of Applied Mathematics and Mechanics
Head of the Chair is Professor Leonid A. Fil’shtynsky, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences
Chair of Complex Systems Modelling
Head of the Chair is associate professor Vasyl’ D. Karpusha, Ph. D. in Physical and Mathematical Sciences
Chair of Information Science
Head of the Chair is Professor Anatoliy S. Dovbysh, Doctor of Technical Sciences
Chair of Materials Resistance and Machine Studies
Head of the Chair is Professor Ivan B. Karintsev, Doctor of Technical Sciences
Training is carried out on 155 disciplines in the field of Mathematics, Physics, Theoretical Mechanics and Materials Resistance, Programming, Computer Technologies and others.
About 450 students and 25 post-graduates study at the Faculty. 81 teachers are involved in educational process, among them there are 8 Doctors and 51 Ph. Ds. Within the specialists training in the direction of Applied Mathematics students have profound training on the PC Software, Telecommunication Systems, Complex Systems Modelling and Mathematical Modelling, and in the direction of Dynamics and Durability the Computer Technologies in capsulation systems of rotary machines and computer diagnostics and prediction reliability are studied.
Annual competitions for prize places at state Olympiads on special and general educational disciplines testify to the high level of students’ training at the Faculty. The most capable of them receive personal scholarships and continue their education at the post-graduate course at Salford University (Manchester, England), at the magistracy in the directions of Informational Technologies and Machine Dynamics and Durability.
