Registration for programme «Leadership Education and Development» is opened. It’s fully funded training programme for Ukrainian students who are able to demonstrate leadership qualities, academic excellence and active social engagement, have an advanced level of English and also show interest and involvement in the public sector and / or social initiatives in Ukraine.

Eligible participants: current Master′s students majoring in Business, Humanities or related fields in Ukraine and recent graduates aged 27 or under currently employed in public or non-profit sectors in Ukraine.

Scholarship to study and to undergo training in Austria

Eligibility

The program is open to applicants:

  • who study a master Programme or have successfully completed at least 4 semesters of studies within a bachelor/diploma Programme by the time of taking up the grant
  • who are studying at a university in one of the eligible countries
  • maximum age limit: 35 years (born on or after Oct. 1st, 1979),
  • applicants must not have studied/pursued research/pursued academic work in Austria in the last six months before taking up the grant,
  • proficiency in the language of instruction (German or English), particularly in the respective subject area, is a prerequisite.

Directions: natural, social, technical and humanitarian sciences, medicine.

Benefits: 1050€-1150€ per month (depending on the category of participant), travel costs – 1000 €.

Visegrad scholarships support Masters and post-Masters (PhD/postdoc) studies/research stays at higher-education institutions in the V4 region (Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, and Slovakia).

Requirements to the applicants: to obtain a Bachelor degree before entering Masters programme, and to obtain Master’s degree (or equivalent) before entering the post-Masters (PhD/postdoc) programme.

Duration: min. study period is 1 semester, max. 2 semesters, or 4 semesters – only within incoming MA-level scholarships.

Support: €2,300/semester for the scholar + €1,500/semester for the host; possibility to apply for a separate travel grant, if residing further than 1,500 km from the host.

Dear students, you are invited to take part in poems writing and translation contest “Alter Ego”  March 15th , 2018. It is organized by the Department of Germanic Philology of SSU.

The students of higher educational institutions, schools and gymnasiums are eligible to take part in the contest.

The poems can be submitted in following nominations:

  1. poems in Ukrainian;
  2. poems about Sumy State University (in Ukrainian, Russian, English, German);
  3. poems in English/German;
  4. translations from English;
  5. translations from German.

For the artistic translation the following poems are given:

Text 1. Dylan Thomas. Being but men (from English)

Text 2. Cäsar Flaischlen. Hab Sonne im Herzen... (from German)

Requirements for the contest works:

  1. literacy and the compliance with the current spelling;
  2. lack of semantic errors;
  3. naturalness of syntactic constructions;
  4. euphony.

Additional requirements for the artistic translation:

  1. reproduction of the author`s style;
  2. matching to the source text.

Deadline: February 18th , 2018.

Conditions: the works should be submitted as MS Word document and designed in accordance with the following requirements: standards – 12 pt, 1.5 line spacing, Times New Roman font; the work should not exceed one A4 page.
